Space now available in a f2f monthly supervision/reflective practice group. Please get in touch if you are a therapist and interested in joining.

I also welcome you to a new Expanded States Integration Circle ~ more details can be found here: https://bit.ly/falmouth-integration-circle

I am sorry, but as my practice is full, I am not able to take any new inquiries for individual or couples therapy at this point in time.

I am a relational, humanistic therapist with two decades of experience, including over 10 years working therapeutically online, and am fully accredited with the BACP.

The bedrock of my approach is to provide an environment of warmth and safety in which people can dive deep into their experience of themselves, their relationships and the worlds they inhabit. Together, we can make sense of how your cultural background, life circumstances and early caregiver relationships lay down the blueprint for how you now relate to yourself, others, and the world. We can unpack your experiences, explore your patterns and different parts of you, and set goals - if you want to - for any changes you'd like to make.

I will sensitively work to your pace as you find ways to express your feelings, memories, embodied sensations, thoughts and dreams free from the threat of receiving judgment or criticism. I can offer you an honest yet compassionate presence, and will be active in the process. We can explore with words as well as through drawing, shape making or symbolic work if you'd like. We can also turn to mindful breath work and movement making as ways of grounding and centring in sessions.  I will be interested in what most appeals to you.

I have a great deal of experience in working with young adults, people who have survived trauma and abuse; as well as those struggling with anxiety, depression, changes in identity, conflictual relationships, and complex grief. I welcome people of all gender identities and sexual orientations; and both individuals and couples. I also support people who want to prepare for and/or integrate expanded states of consciousness; be that through transcendental breathwork or plant medicine. I also have a new group beginning to offer support with this - see link at the top of the page for more details.

*Please note, due to current legal restrictions, I am not currently able to offer psychedelic assisted therapy sessions in the UK; nor will I be encouraging substance use or providing access to illegal substances or practices*

Training, Qualifications and Experience

My core training was in Person-Centred Therapy through Plymouth University. I have completed certification in other approaches including Dialectal Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Transactional Analysis and Group Facilitation. I also draw extensively from Polyvagal Theory; Internal Family Systems and Compassion Focused models. I am currently training in psychedelic-assisted therapy with the Institute of Psychedelic Therapy.

My previous work was as a Reflexologist and I also hold a degree in Communications with Linguistics from the University of Leeds (2001)

Over the past two decades, I have worked for sexual health; abuse recovery; community adult and young peoples' counselling agencies, as well as children's residential services and an HIV/AIDS charity. I have designed and delivered training on different aspects of mental health and held lead therapist, clinical lead and supervisor roles. In 2020 I took the decision to step away from services and focus on my private practice as both therapist and supervisor.

Supervision

I have trained in both IPT (Anna Freud Centre) and integrative (online therapy institute) supervision and I have experience offering both organisational and clinical supervision to individuals and groups, predominantly using the seven eyed and cyclical models of supervision.

I offer an individualised approach depending upon your stage of professional development and your work setting.

I am mindful to always offer a balance of support; case consultation; and awareness of the welfare needs of the clients, and seek to make the whole process as collaborative as possible.

I can support you in working effectively and ethically, and ensure there is space for reflection, integration of theory and decision making, with an eye always on the transference and counter-transference coming through. When I offer challenge, it comes with warmth, sensitivity and compassion.

I am accredited through the BACP and adhere to their code of ethics. My DBS is kept up to date.
